What brought you to Plant the Seed?

At the beginning of 2019 I started working on my Masters in Sustainability. I really wanted to find a job where I could transition more into that world while giving back to the community. This position presented itself to me and I thought it sounded like the perfect fit! I love getting to work with children and it was great getting to mix these two worlds together.

If you could have any superpower what would it be, and why?

I would have the power of flight. I think it would be amazing to be able to travel and get to places that way. I love traveling and being in planes looking down on the world below me.

What is your favorite band/genre of music?

My favorite band is this 13 piece (including a whole horn section and 2 drummers!) indie band out of Portland called Typhoon. I actually have a tattoo with their lyrics from their song Post Script on my left arm that are appropriate for this job as well! It says “We’ll grow a garden” next to poppies which represent my home state California and dogwood flowers which represent my move here to the south. Their music is extremely beautiful and cinematic. I would highly recommend!

What is one goal you want to complete in the next 10 years?

I would love to start my own business. I want to work with musicians and large events to create more sustainable events. Right now events cause so much waste and use so much energy. I would really love to help people solve those problems so that these spaces can continue going forward without harming the environment.
