At Ross Early Learning Center, we are building a Dream Garden! This garden will serve as a living outdoor classroom, a growing space for wonder and engagement for our pre-k children and their families. Collaborating with the local permaculture experts at Nashville Foodscapes, we began construction with the help of volunteers from our school community and the surrounding neighborhood. In the short term, this space will feature a meandering grass path, perennial edible shrubs, tunnels for exploration, raised beds, an herb spiral, and a mud kitchen. We plan to add a shade structure, compost bins, and a rainwater collection system in the coming months and years. If you would like updates on future volunteer opportunities to connect with this garden, please email our volunteer coordinator: liz@planttheseed.org.
