Marisa Hough
Rosebank Elementary Garden Educator
I am a Nashville native and grew up loving nature, science, and gardening. Growing up, I developed a deep connection with nature by exploring the woods for hours or going out on the lake for the day. Before coming to Plant the Seed, I spent 8 years as a Montessori teacher, where I incorporated gardening education into our daily activities. I’m passionate about sharing these experiences with children as they learn about tending to the earth and how they can connect with nature, not just in the garden but even in pots, containers, and urban environments. Working with plants, using tools, and engaging in lessons about the natural world give children hands-on and experiential moments that show them how to feel and live in harmony with the earth. I’m so excited to be at PTS and connecting children to the land and roots of the earth.
